NC-Politics - Candidate Profiles
Candidate Profiles
Voters need ease of access, Candidates need exposure. The internet provides the medium but not the CONNECTION!
If you ever tried to do a Google search for all the LOCAL candidate web sites in your county you would quickly see the problem.
Search engines usually return a low ranking to candidate web sites (because they are new, or because they have few links pointing to them),
additionally its difficult to associate a State, City, or County, with a web site,
which makes it difficult for voters to find these sites, and difficult for candidates to leverage the full potential of the internet.
NC-Politics.com bridges the gap by providing a place where voters can go to find political candidates! Voters can remember only a few
political web site addresses but can easily find a political portal that sponsors links to all the candidates! When a candidate provides
a "Candidate Profile" they make themselves available to be found by a much wider voter audience, and by providing a link to their campaign web site
they obtain valuable "link-relevancy" and search engine index positioning. This means a campaign web site can be found and thus get A LOT
more visitors!
Given the frequency of the Local election
cycle (many candidates must run every 2 years), many incumbents have discovered
that an ongoing "candidate" web site presence is required to keep in
touch with the voters (even if they have an "official" web site
covering their elected position). NC-Politics is the natural place
voters will look to find these "links", because they only need to
remember one web site address!!
NC-Politics.com is not a substitute for a candidate campaign web site or Blog, we seek to augment the candidate's existing
web presence and provide a valuable service to the public. However; if a candidate has no web site or Blog, a "Candidate Profile"
listing on NC-Politics will provide a baseline internet presence. Additionally, if you don't have a profile, and your competition does,
then you may be mission out on a lot of valuable exposure!
One Last Time - There is NO CHARGE to enter a Candidate Profile ....
We have been asked, (by more than one candidate): "What's the catch?... You are going to charge me for this somehow
aren't you?" The answer is NO, we will not attempt to charge you, and since we don't ask for any charge information...we couldn't
anyway!! We really want candidates to have the maximum exposure so that Voters can find them!

Candidate profiles are not automatically listed or generated at NC-Politics, you have to take action. Candidates should self-initiate the input of their profile and linkage of their
web site to our portal. We do not provide a capability to request that profiles be established for a candidate. Most candidates have no problem inputting their profile. Remember that
you can always change your profile at any time. Typically a candidate enters their own profile, if this is not possible, a designated representative
of the candidate may do it for the candidate.
Tip: When entering a profile, save several times before you are complete! That way if you get interrupted, the database connection
won't "time-out" and cause you to lose your work up to that point in time. Start by entering the required data only and
perform a "save", then come back and modify the created profile as many times as you want until you have it complete!
After each annual election all existing links are subject to review and deletion
without further notice to the candidate. If you keep an ongoing active
campaign web site and want to maintain a constant linkage, just drop us an email
to let us know !

Candidates are not required to have an existing campaign web site in order to enter a "Profile" at
NC-Politics.com. In fact, their profile here provides a baseline internet presence, but if a candidate does
have a campaign web site or BLOG then providing a link to it here leverages that investment by increasing its
visibility and relevancy with the search engines.

Incumbent Directory
The "Incumbent Directory" is not really a "directory" in the strict database sense of the term. It would be too
difficult to keep track of the hundreds of sources and thousands of changes needed to keep such a database current. The incumbent
information resides on multiple Local (county, city) and State level webs sites representing the governing bodies across the state.
These sites do a pretty good job of keeping up with their local changes. So, if you have a set of links to those sites, then you would
have a good handle on all the incumbents across the State!
That's exactly what we supply. If you know the name of a county or city and you want to know who is current in office there, our
links will allow you to find who you are looking for. The "Key" to using the Incumbent Directory is to ask
yourself the question: WHERE is this incumbent serving (city, town, county, or State Level) and begin your search along those lines.

Candidate Satisfaction
We want you to be well satisfied with your profile on NC-Politics. If you experience any problems that you can't seem to overcome
on your own, please drop us an e-mail. Please try to be as specific as possible when describing your issue, include your name and
return email so we can get back to you!

There is simply no downside to placing a Candidate Profile here at NC-Politics.com, ......unless of course, additional visibility is a bad thing !
